Wooden Bowls

Wooden Bowls
The Primitive Wooden Bowls I offer are the kind you want to reach out and touch - their rims softened by hands, their interiors showing the gentle tracks of long-ago use. Each was hand-carved, not machine-turned, so the subtle irregularities in shape and thickness give them real personality.

Surfaces remain in original finish, often dry and silky, with that low, quiet sheen that only age and honest kitchen work can create. I look for bowls with good color and form, whether deep, workhorse types that once held dough, or wider, shallower pieces that might have cradled fruit or beans.

Today they are beautiful on a farmhouse table filled with seasonal greens, on a cupboard shelf layered with textiles, or simply standing alone as sculpture. Share your decorating plans with me, and I will gladly guide you toward bowls that fit your space, your palette, and your love of early American simplicity.
